Nell Dean McAuley was born to Homer and Ella Irene Jenkins on November 11, 1923 in Haskell County. She passed away November 2, 2009 in a Decatur hospital. She was 5th of eight children and graduated from Millsap High School in 1942. She married Harold M. McAuley in 1943 during his service in WWII. They raised six children while living in the Millsap area. They operated a family café in Millsap and Cool during the 60's and Nell Dean retired in 1988 from Perry Equipment in Mineral Wells. She resided in Weatherford and Decatur the last years of her life cared for by family. Nell Dean was a Baptist and she loved her family and cooking. Services will be 10 AM Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her children and spouses: John David and Gaye McAuley of Weatherford, Judy and Don McCrary of Decatur, Kay McAuley of Decatur, Jeanette Raldo of Tucson, Arizona, Suzy Daves of Millsap, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years: Harold McAuley, son: Darvin McAuley, grandsons: Scotty McCrary and Joe David McAuley, and great-granddaughter: Prescilla Marie Stabreff.
