Neldon B. (Mel) Cottle went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2009 after a lengthy illness. He will be missed by all those who knew him. Services will be 10 AM Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Christ the King Covenant Church in Mineral Wells with Bishop Don Connell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mel was born in Trenton, Utah on May 31, 1926 to Walter and Leah Cottle. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Linda Cottle on February 20, 1970. He had lived in Mineral Wells since 1987. He was a deacon at Christ the King Covenant Church. He had been ordained in the ministry in 1997. Mel was preceded in death by a son: Todd Cottle, grandson: Ronnie Cottle, 6 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife: Linda Cottle of Mineral Wells, sons: Troy Cottle of San Antonio, Steve Cottle of Carl Junction, Missouri, Ron Cottle of Springfield, Oregon, daughter: Sheila Garcia of Springfield, Oregon, 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, 1 brother, and 6 sisters. Pallbearers will be Troy Cottle, Steve Cottle, and high school friends of Troy's, Jason Payne, Jerry Eaton, Tracey Hatley, and Steve Rhoades.
