Natalia Tafolla Samaniego

Natalia Tafolla Samaniego, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on March 7, 2025 at the age of 90 in the presence of her three surviving children.

She was born on July 10, 1934 in Sonora, Texas. Growing up there she met and married the love of her life, Arnoldo M. Samaniego Sr. They were married for 68 years until Arnoldo Sr.'s passing on June 20, 2024.

Together they raised four children; Velia, Arnold Jr., Sandra, and Javier who were all born in Sonora.

In 1961 they moved to Palo Pinto where Arnoldo Sr. worked as a ranch hand while Natalia worked at home providing for the family’s needs at home.

In 1965 the Samaniego Family permanently moved to the City of Mineral Wells where Arnoldo became a welder at Perry Equipment Corporation and Natalia obtained a job at Mepco-Electra Inc. In 1966 The remainder of the Tafolla family followed suit to Mineral Wells where they established roots.

Natalia left Electra in 1981 to continue assisting her husband in maintaining their home and continuing to care for the family.

Natalia is preceded by her husband, Arnoldo Sr. and eldest daughter, Velia Samaniego Barrientos. She is survived by her three children, Arnold Samaniego Jr., Sandra Austin and Javier Samaniego, her younger brother, Jacinto Tafolla Jr., and her younger sisters, Amelia Tafolla Garza, and Rosa Tafolla Pruneda. Natalia also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation and Rosary will be at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
