Bud Henry was born December 5, 1948 in Weatherford, TX to Mervin and Mary Henry and passed away at home October 9, 2021.
Bud is survived by children, Becky Langston and husband Bill of Weatherford, Chris Henry and wife Lisa of Mineral Wells, and Matthew Henry of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Lance Thomas, Abbe Wyatt and John Henry all of Mineral Wells; sister-in-law, Nixie Roach and husband Lynn of Midlothain; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by wife Lendy Henry; grandson, Alex Henry; parents Marvin and Mary Henry; sisters, Bernice Watson and Maxine Noble; father and mother-in-law, Clifton and Jo Janne Beck; sister and brother-in-law, Bill and Janie Marvin.
Bud worked a Mepco/Phillips for many years were he meet his wife. They were long time members of North Oak Church of Christ. There they made friends that weren't "friends" they were family. These relationships were and will always be a source of great support and love.
Bud was a story teller; he loved to tell a tall tale. Many of you have heard the same story numerous times, yet he told the story with as much gusto as the first time. Typically, the tale would be a little taller the second and third time he told it.
Bud was an avid gun collector. It didn't really matter the size or power, if it shot he was all in. A passion he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
He loved his dogs passionately, each and every one was extremely important to him. Losing one of his dogs was desperately heartbreaking for him.
He loved the movie Lonesome Dove so much so the family once owned a fish named Blue Duck, a dog named Gus as well as Deets.
It was a family tradition to play a rowdy game of cards. We can only imagine the cheating and tricks that are happening in heaven now.
He loved his family, but more than anything on earth he loved his wife Lendy. They would have been married 45 years the year she passed. Bud Henry truly passed from a broken heart. He yearned daily to join her at Christ's side and we know he is with them now. Truly healed of all his earthly pain and sorrow.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Woodland Park Cemetry.
A quote from Lonesome Dove: “It ain't dying I'm talking about, it's living. I doubt it matters where you die, but it matters where you live.”
