Always having many plants, including beautiful and colorful iris flowers, many of which were bulbs given to her by dear friends, Max and Billie Clark of Clark Gardens. Her family always knew there would be plenty of fresh vegetables on the dinner table that she had skillfully grown in her garden, followed by a variety of delicious desserts and candies. She always made everyone feel welcome in her home. Modena was a great seamstress and has made not only her own clothes but has clothed everyone else in the family. All the grandchildren have an inside-out blanket that was made especially for each one when they were young to use when they came to Nana’s house for an overnight stay. She also made prom dresses and other fancy attire for many girls through the years.
