Mitchell Ray

The gates of Heaven have opened and called another angel home. The bells rang out on August 21, 2012 and called Mitchell to rest in eternal peace for evermore. On February 14, 1958, in Mineral Wells, Texas the Lord blessed Mitchell Ray, Sr. & Vida Ray with a handsome baby boy Mitchell Charles Ray, Jr. Mitchell began his early education at Dunbar School's; and then went on to attend & graduate from Mineral Wells High School. He went on to continue his education at Angelo State University where he was an active member on the NAIA National Champion football team, and track team. Mitchell was a very fun and loving person. When Mitchell met new people they never felt like a stranger due to his outgoing personality which was very captivating. He always kept a big smile on his face which was certain to brighten anyone's day. There was never a dull moment around Mitchell; he would bust out a joke at the drop of a heartbeat, and usually started with "That joker"! Mitchell has touched many people's lives and hearts during his time with us. His smile, love, and generosity will always be remembered. Mitchell will join his Father in eternal peace, Mitchell Ray, Sr. Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory, his Mother, Vida Ray; his wife, Lisa Jones-Ray ( North Richland Hills, TX); his son, Madison C. Ray (North Richland Hills, TX); his brother, Melvin Ray ;his sisters, Cassandra, & Theresa Ray (Daly City, CA); his uncles, Charles Cavitt ( San Francisco, CA) , Robert "BOB" Porter (Grass Lake, MI), & Larry Taborn (New York, NY); and two special friends, Ms. Mary Jo Aguilera (Bedford, TX) & Ms. Carter Igou (Hurst, TX); & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorial Service Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.
