Mildred Elaine (Cox) Summers, loving wife and mother, devoted Grandmother and loyal friend to many went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Elaine was born in Dallas, TX on November 12, 1937, to Byron and Mildred Smallwood. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Summers, daughter, Karen Cox of The Woodlands, TX, son, Robert (Rob) Cox, Jr. and wife Lari of Decatur, TX, two grandsons, Robert Cox and Taylor Stephens. Elaine is also survived by sister Vera Jean and her husband James Cagle of Mount Pleasant, TX, sister Brenda and her husband Don Shelby of Quinlan, TX, and brother Lewis and his wife Janette of Argyle, TX. She was preceded in death by her late husband Robert (Bob) Cox, Sr., her parents, and a brother, Stanley Smallwood. She attended various schools in Texas and California and was married to her late husband, Bob Cox for 34 years until his death in 1989. Elaine and Glenn Summers were married in June of 2005. Elaine loved traveling and while married to Glenn they visited many places in the US, the Caribbean, and several countries in Europe and Asia. She will be missed by all of her friends from church and several Bible studies she attended. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, TX, for the past 36 years and has taught Sunday Sunday for the past 30 years. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to consider giving to First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells, The Gideons, or Compassion International as these were Elaine's heart and support . Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, 3:00 - 5:00pm at Baum - Carlock - Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, TX. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 3:00pm at First Baptist Church, 100 SW 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells, TX. Graveside Service to follow.
