Michael Duncan MacLeod passed away at his home on Split Rock Cedar Ranch, March 21, 2022 surrounded by family and his cherished dogs, Lucky and Nola. He was born on October 20, 1950 in El Paso, Texas. Michael spent most of his childhood years living at the New Jersey shore with his parents, Jeanne and John MacLeod, brother Bruce and sister Nancy. He enjoyed summer vacations in Maine with his beloved grandparents (Nana and Pop Pop).
Michael graduated from Lynchburg University, Lynchburg Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He met his beloved Kim at Lynchburg University, and they married his senior year in 1979.
During Michael’s career he was employed in the pharmaceutical and healthcare field. Michael worked for Johnson and Johnson (Ortho; Ethicon), Dudnyk Healthcare Communications, Delta Point, Inc. Michael’s multifaceted talents, vast knowledge and integrity led him to advance his career to the top leadership roles (President) with each organization. Finally, he established his own consulting business, Dunvegan Enterprises. His work ethic was admired by many and those who knew Michael professionally sought him or his advice, expertise.
Michael was passionate about his family, friends, his ancestral MacLeod clan roots (Isle of Skye), ranch and Texas. Kim and Michael moved to Texas together with their sons in 2007. They built Split Rock Cedar Ranch and over the years made it what it is today … a magnificent ranch deep in the heart of Texas and one that is admired by many.
Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Kim Susan MacLeod. Michael is survived by his son, Ian MacLeod and his wife Hilary MacLeod and grandson, Eli MacLeod; son, Trevor MacLeod and his wife Kendra MacLeod; brother Bruce MacLeod and his wife Kathy MacLeod; sister Nancy MacLeod, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at First Baptist Church Mineral Wells. Funeral services are immediately following at 10 a.m. with interment at Palo Pinto Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following: Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Society or the Texas Longhorn Breeder’s Association.
