In loving memory of Micah Ray James, cherished father, son, brother, uncle, friend and talented drafter, we celebrate a life that touched the hearts of many. Born on May 8, 1983, in Ranger, TX, Micah lived a life filled with passion and dedication to his craft. He went above and beyond to help others. Always a giver. His untimely passing on October 29, 2024, has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Funeral Service to honor Micah's life will be held at the Greenwood Baptist Church in Weatherford on November 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Prior to the service, a Public Viewing will take place at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel on November 8, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm. These gatherings will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share memories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable individual. Micah is survived by his children, Joshua and Emma James; his parents, David and Linda James; his siblings, Trinity James Dempsey and spouse, Brack Dempsey, Amy James Birdwell and spouse Jay Birdwell, Matthew James and spouse, Jayc James, and Billy Smith; his girlfriend, Michelle Fry and the mother of his children, Malorie Tyler. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Conlin and Eden Dempsey, Wyatt, Morgan, and Nadia Birdwell, Kaylee James, Damien Thomas and Dawson Swindle; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Micah was a jokester; his Chuck Norris and dad jokes were top tier. He was always laughing, and honestly… just being dumb… He called his friends and family regularly and you couldn’t ever get him off of the phone. He LOVED his kids! He talked about them to whoever would listen. It’s cliché, but he really could light up a room. He loved to draw, paint, play guitar, and share his music. He made up songs and memes and jokes all the time. You could count on him; he would be there for you. And oh my goodness was he a good cook! He tried all the recipes, and he thought he was better than all the chefs. There is so much love and joy that Micah embodied. These words just fail to capture his essence.
As we bid farewell to Micah, we are comforted in knowing that he is with our Heavenly Father in his new body that will never fail him. We remember his creativity, kindness, and the lasting impact he had on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In honor of Micah Ray James, let us come together to celebrate a life well-lived and the legacy he leaves behind. May his spirit continue to inspire us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to a Benefit Account for Micah James' children, Joshua and Emma. Donations can be made at any First Financial Bank. Just ask for the Benefit Account for the James' children in David James' name.
