Maxine Gratts

Maxine Gratts, 87, of Mineral Wells, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 in Mineral Wells. Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday at the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Henry L. Smith, Sr. and Rev. Clarence Holliman officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be deacons of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Gratts was born May 6, 1922 in Point, Texas, the daughter of Marion Golightly and Louise Colbert Beechem. She has lived in Mineral Wells since 1961 and previously since 1941. She married Willey Gratts in 1976 in Mineral Wells and he preceded her in death March 12, 1990. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include sisters, Elzora Milton of Mineral Wells, Eureerstine Nickerson of Denver, Colorado, Claudette Parker of Minnesota and Lotrette Hunter of Killeen, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; several Godchildren; special friends, Clarence and Ruby Holliman. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Erma Beechem and Levesse Jones and two brothers, Marion "Bill" and Lorenza Beechem.
