Matthew Ray Pennington, 35, passed away January 31, 2015 in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born March 6, 1979 in Mineral Wells the son of William Ray and Nita Gail Pilgrim Pennington. He married Cynthia Wheeler on September 16, 2006 in Mineral Wells. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and worked at the Devon Gas Plant in Bridgeport. It is with a Very Heavy Heart that Palo Pinto County has lost a Great Man, too soon for us. Matthew Pennington was a Huge Supporter of our Youth, a very Active member of the Palo Pinto County Livestock Association and many other things besides being an Amazing family man and friend. Our hearts are broken and we will stand by Matt's family in prayer. Please take a moment to say prayers for his entire family. He leaves a trail of broken hearts to grieve him, but a powerful support group to remember him. Thank you for all you have done and the memories left to cherish. God Bless your family. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Palo Pinto Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the church. He is survived by his wife: Cynthia Wheeler Pennington of Weatherford, children: Jonna and Trent, parents: Ray and Nita Pennington of Palo Pinto, brother and sister-in-law: Mark and Charlotte Pennington of Palo Pinto, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lynn and Judy Wheeler of Santo, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Steve and Jody Wheeler of Santo, and nieces and nephews: Haley and Lane Pennington, SaxAnn, Gideon, and Lakota Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. In lieu of flowers an account has been set up at First Financial Bank-Cindy Pennington Benefit Fund-to help her finish the house that has been Matt's dream.
