Mary Louise Turner, of Mineral Wells, passed away at age 91 at a care facility in Fort Worth on December 27, 2013. Mary was born in Roanoke, Texas, the daughter of the late Anson and Josephine (Prewitt) Cannon.She attended TWC in Fort Worth where she met the love of her life, Jess N. Turner, Jr., and married on April 12, 1942 in Fort Worth. They enjoyed 71 years and 8 months of marriage this December. Together she and Jess built Palo Pinto Telephone Co., which they owned and operated for over 25 years.She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mineral Wells and a former organist of Palo Pinto Methodist Church for many years. Mary was also a previous member of the Palo Pinto General Hospital Auxiliary, Palo Pinto County Porcelain Art Club, Lost Valley Porcelain Art Club, Holiday Hills Country Club and Ladies Golf Association. During her free time, Mary enjoyed golf, bridge, genealogy, writing and gardening. She stayed active playing golf until she was 84, and had a hole-in-one at age 80.Survivors are: husband, Jess N. Turner, Jr.; son, Jess (Sonny) and wife, Kaye Turner; daughter, Laura and husband, Tom Blong; daughter, Pat Turner; grandchildren: Derek Turner; Keri and husband, Ricky Stuart; Jared and wife, Lori Blong; and Jody and husband, Koby Hatch; great-grandchildren: Trey Stuart; Merritt, Caleb and Jess Blong; and Avery and Will Turner; sister, Inez and brother-in-law, Mc Howe; and brother-in-law, Charles Turner; and many other loving family members.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First United Methodist Church of Mineral Wells or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, North Central Texas Chapter, 4086 Sandshell Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76137 or any charity of your choice.A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 4, 2pm at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells.
