Mary Sanchez

Mary Alice Sanchez, 76, of Mineral Wells, is now in the loving arms of her Lord. She left behind so many loved ones and friends on May 1st, 2013. Rosary will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Sunday May 5, 2013 starting at 6:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be Monday May 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery. Mary was born in Bennett, Texas the daughter of Federico and Paulina (Zepeda) Ortiz. Mary was always thinking of others; this became very clear in the 6th grade; she quit school to take care of and raise her younger siblings. She worked at Perry Equipment Co. for 5 years before marrying her true love; Leonardo Sanchez Jr. in February 11th of 1967. She then had an adventurous life traveling with him and raising her family during his military career. Mary could be called a mother to the town; she had such a loving touch about her, and anyone she passed could immediately build a bond with. She had a strong bond and love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If you saw Mary, you saw her husband. They were always together at church, local charity functions; anything one of them did they did as a team. Mary leaves behind: husband, Leonardo Sanchez Jr.; children: Sonny Havens, Ethel P. Havens, Sandra Maldonado, Mary Rodriguez, Albert Sanchez, Edmond Dale Sanchez and Russell Sanchez; step-children: Leonardo Sanchez III, Mariano Sanchez and Adriana M. Sanchez; brothers and sisters: Judy Puryear, Raymond J. Ortiz, Damas Ortiz, Cindy Ortiz, Christina Ortiz and Paul Ortiz; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
