Mary Lou Whitmire Miles, 95, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend passed from this life to her eternal home, surrounded by her loving family Sunday morning, April 12, 2015. Visitation will be Friday, April 17th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner with internment immediately following at the Woodland Park Cemetery. Mary Lou was born to Jurd and Maude Whitmire on November 23, 1919 in Benton, Tennessee and grew up on Signal Mountain. Here she met and married the love of her life, Edward C. Miles on August 9, 1941 and was married for a beautiful 48 years. In support of her husband's ministry, Mary Lou and Edward relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico and continued their work for the Lord in the pioneering of churches for the Church of God of Prophecy in Midland, San Angelo and Mineral Wells, TX. Mary Lou had an inspiring work ethic, working well into her 90's. She had a great love for her acreage and spent countless hours "working" her property. She had a heart for mission work, offering her home to others, assisting in countless fundraisers, gathering items for those in need. Her works, her love of family, her endearing friendships and the love of her land will be her heritage. Those of us who had her in our lives were blessed to have known her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Miles; son, Royce Miles; son-in-law, Phillip Hall and eight siblings. She is survived by daughter, Sandy Hall of McKinney, TX; son, Larry Miles and wife, Georjean of Mineral Wells, TX; daughter, Rhonda Almond of Mineral Wells, TX. Grandchildren: Marielle and Curt Grazioli of Mineral Wells, TX; Tabitha Almond-White and James "Hoss" White of Mineral Wells, Texas; Shanna and Nicklaus Ganter of McKinney, TX; Arianne and Robert Schlak of Rowlett, TX; Melissa Almond of Fort Worth, TX; Trinity Hall of Dallas, TX; Ben and Tiffany Miles of Conroe, TX; Cody Almond-Elliott and Jason Elliott of Mineral Wells, TX; and Angela Miles of Conroe, TX; and fifteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; her yorkie, Timini Grace and dearest family-friend Vicky Hendrickson. A special thanks to the following: Daniel Cottrell; Doris and the staff of Patrick Hisel, M.D., Cassie Hampton; Integra Home Health Care staff and the Integra Hospice staff.
