Mary Catherine Davis Lyon entered into life January 14, 1929 and entered into eternal life March 4, 2016, an Angel on earth, now an Angel in Heaven. A remarkable woman, Mary's life has glorified our God who gave her life. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Mary was a devout Christian and a member of Salesville Baptist Church. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Frist Baptist Church with Lonnie DeArmond officiating. Burial will follow at Salesville (Grantham) Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mary and the love of her life Floyd Alvie were married on February 3, 1946 in Mary's grandparent's home (Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Davis). D. W. was city marshall and Victoria Tubb was related to Ernest Tubb the renowned country and western singer. After 68 years of marriage Floyd went on to be with the Lord on September 16, 2014. Mary was born in Seymour, Texas. Mary grew up with 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children and spouses: James Alvie and Sandra Lyon of Palo Pinto, Shirley Jean Ray of Mineral Wells, John Ray and Wanda Lyon of Mineral Wells, Cathy Elaine and Robert Wilkerson of Arlington, grandchildren and spouses: Teddy and Krezhana Lyon, Chuck and Kathy Lyon, Shawnta Ray, and Tiffany Lyon, great-grandchildren: Paige Lyon, Douglas Lyon, Tyler Lyon, Clarissa Ray, Ryan Ray, Zachary Perez, Tabatha and Chase Walker, and Hope and Grace Lyon, great-great grandchild: Bentley Ray, siblings and spouses: Joe Richard Davis of Irving, Hughie Wilburn Jr. and Sarah Davis of Artesia, New Mexico, sister-in-law: Maxine Davis of Abilene, brother-in-law: Albert Hoes of Saginaw, loved animals: Tippy Lyon, Chatty Wilkerson, Martha (Little Britches) Wilkerson, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lorene Catherine Tucker Davis and Hughie Wilburn Davis, siblings: Daniel Wilburn Davis, Carl Wayne Davis, Martha Elizabeth Popham and husband Alton, Dorothy Mae Boykin, Bonnie Louise Hoes, and Bessie Cleo Perkins.
