Mary Jane Gilley, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024. Born to Jack and Doris McFadden on April 3, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, Mary Jane's life was characterized by her fierce honesty, resilience, and dedication to her family.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by brothers Marvin, Tommy, Bobby, and Richard McFadden, and her sister, Jackie Moore. Though they have gone before her, their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved them.
Mary Jane is survived by her devoted children: son Tommy and wife Charis Hendrick, daughter Donna and husband Jay Morris, and son Shane Snider and wife Holly. She was a proud grandmother to Ryan and K'Cee Lee, Raini and Trent Yowell, Lashana and Hunter Morgan, Tarah and Michael Moya, Cayla and Justin Porterfield, Cara Hendrick, and Logan, London, and Larson Snider. She also leaves behind her sisters Sharon Jontra, Inez Meeks, and Alvetta Bishop, brother Phil and wife Betty Phelps, brother-in-law Joe Moore, sisters-in-law Diane McFadden and Trina McFadden, as well as ten adoring great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Mary Jane was known for her brutal honesty and her fighting spirit. She never backed down from a challenge and approached life with determination and resilience. She found joy in cultivating beautiful flowers and her home was always a reflection of her strong will and unwavering personality. Mary Jane dedicated herself to caregiving, extending her love and support to others until 2023.
A celebration of Mary Jane's life will be held on Sunday, March 10th, at 2 p.m. at the Mineral Wells Church of God, where friends and family will come together to honor her memory.
Mary Jane's legacy of resilience, honesty, and determination will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
