Mary Alice Counts, 79, passed away February 14, 2015 in a Mineral Wells hospital. She was born February 9, 1936 in Mineral Wells. Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in McAdams Cemetery. Alice, as she was known to all of her friends and family, lived her life and raised her children in Mineral Wells. She was a fixture at the Greyhound and Trailway Bus Stations for over 44 years. She shared her warmth and smile with all of her customers. People always talked about how everyone loved her smile and she loved to get acquainted with everyone she met. She is survived by her two daughters, their husbands, and 2 grandchildren: Mary Jane Howell, Kenny, and Emily of Mineral Wells, Roxie Counts Kurian, Richard, and R. J. of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, brothers and sisters-in-law: Drennon and Angie Daves of Sweetwater, Charles and Marilyn Daves of Amarillo, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving mother: Ruby Jewel, and her brother: Earl Daves. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church "Backpack Buddies" at 301 NE 1st ST., Mineral Wells, TX 76067 in honor of Alice Counts.
