Mary Louise Baker, 85, passed away May 1, 2009 in a Mineral Wells hospital. She was born May 26, 1923 in Mineral Wells the daughter of James Beverly and Leavena Cecil White Hicks. She was a lifetime resident of Mineral Wells and a Baptist. She worked at the M and W Variety Store for 20 years until retiring. She married Joe W. Baker on June 23, 1962 in Greenville. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Charles Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Edith and Dixie Ramey of Mineral Wells, son and daughter-in-law: Rev. James and Hiroka Merritt of Hawaii, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on February 11, 1997, 2 sisters, and son: Carl Edward Merritt.
