Martha Etta Pierce

Martha Etta Pierce passed away on March 14, 2011 at Palo Pinto General Hospital surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 7, 1934 in Lubbock, TX. the daughter of Ray Holding & Elza Norris Holding. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She married Austin Ellis Pierce on 5/20/1953 in Leakesville, MS. they were together for 20 years.They had 3 sons Richard Ellis Pierce, David Wayne Pierce, Phillip Eugene Pierce. During that time they were stationed in the Philippines from 1958-1959, and the Azores from 1968-1973.She relocated to Mineral Wells in 1973 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a caregiver, homemaker, and worked in retail.Services will be 2 PM Friday, March 18, 2011 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons Richard & David Pierce, & 1 Grandson Martin Pierce. Survivors include: Son- Philip Pierce of San Marcos, TX. Granddaughters- Melissa Pierce-Veliz and husband Carlos of Mineral Wells, TX. Joni Pierce of Brazos, TX. Grandsons-Zach & Daniel Pierce from Summerville, Sc. Great Grandsons- Steven Unerfusser of Mineral Wells, TX. David & Dylan Jacobson of Brazos, TX. Great Grandaughters- Payton Jacobson of Brazos, TX. & Hannah Simmons of Brazos, TX. numerous other family & friends.
