Martha Hill

October 16, 1926 — July 13, 2021

Martha Morris Hill passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in Mineral Wells. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hill was born in Drain, Oregon, October 16, 1926. She had lived in Mineral Wells since 1957. She was a teacher in the Mineral Wells Schools for 20 years and had taught in Oregon before coming to Texas. She was a Presbyterian and a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association of Texas. She was also a life member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority of the University of Oregon.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Hill, a well-known educator in Mineral Wells. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Ann Morris; step-daughter, Wanda Jean Hill; parents, William and Madeline Bettis Cool; and her brother.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Owen Wampler of Mineral Wells; grandsons, Brian Wampler and wife Tiffany of Decatur, Tx and Eric Wampler and wife Misty of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Baylee, Makaela, Christian, Kinley, Tessa, and Riley; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
