Mark Medlin, 61 of Mineral Wells passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 in a Dallas hospital. Service is 1pm Thursday, at First Baptist Church Mineral Wells. Burial will follow at Bosley Cemetery,Santo. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Chapel.Mark was born in Mineral Wells on December 15, 1956. Mark lived in Mineral Wells most of his life. He graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1975 and received his bacherlor's and master's degree in Agriculture from Tarleton State University. A rodeo cowboy, Mark was a member of the Tarleton State University Rodeo team as a bull rider for several years, traveling all over the country with the team and competing in many events. Mark managed an oil and gas company for many years and also worked as a realtor.Ever the gentleman, Mark was kind and generous with his time and had a servant heart. Mark was involved in the Masonic Lodge for 38 years. He served in many roles including past Master of Mineral Wells Lodge #611, past District Deputy of Masonic District # 113, past Commander of the Commandery, past High Priest of the Chapter, past Thrice Illustrious Master of the Council. He was also a Past President and current Secretary of the Brazos Valley Scottish Rite Club. Mark loved the Lord and grew up attending the First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. He loved his family, nieces and nephews, their families especially his great nephews and great niece. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking particularly Cajun food and Louisiana gumbo, watching football, golf, baseball, and was a big TCU fan. Mark loved spending time on the Texas coast at North Padre Island. Politics was also a favorite pastime for Mark, even serving as the President of the Palo Pinto County Democratic Club.He is survived by his mother Marge Medlin; two sisters: Shelley Ramsey and husband Owen, Leslee Barham and husband Allen; nieces and nephews: Ashley Barham, Chase Barham and wife Ashli, Rachel Lively and husband Thomas, Kaylee Sparks and husband Kit, and PS1(SW) Cody Ramsey; Uncle, Earl Medlin and wife Linda, 1 great niece and 6 great nephews, other family and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father Bill Medlin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund.
