Marilyn Murray Hickey Bell

Marilyn Murray Hickey Bell was born September 5, 1928 in Ranger, Texas, and died on February 10, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; Walter Murray and Blanche Talley Murray, her husband, Ross L. Bell, son, Bobby Jack Hickey, Jr., infant daughter Pamela Jane Hickey and her first husband Bob Jack Hickey. She is survived by her sister, Catherine Houghton, of Dallas, Texas, daughter Jill Moore of Missouri City, Texas and son Jeff Hickey and wife Charlotte of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Denise and Pat Daniels, Kim and Troy Bourgeois, Kenny and Holly Moore, Terri Hickey, Russell Hickey, Tamara and Bill Austin, Tyson Hickey and Trey Hickey, and 7 great-grandchildren.She graduated from Ranger High School and attended Texas Tech University. During her nearly 60 years in Mineral Wells, she was very active with a wide variety of local charities, fundraisers and an enthusiastic supporter of Mineral Wells schools. Marilyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells, the Friendship Class, the Junior History Club, the Mineral Wells Woman's Club, the Red Hat Society and Holiday Hills Country Club. Marilyn was a co-owner of the "Mineral Wells Index" from the late '50's to the mid '70's.The family wants to thank Linda and Charlie O'Bannon for their incredible love, comfort and support to Marilyn in her last year, as well as the staffs at Palo Pinto Hospital, Kindred Hospital of Ft. Worth, Odyssey Hospice in Ft. Worth, and Certified Caregivers of Ft. Worth.Services will be Monday, February 13th at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, with burial to follow at Woodland Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you make a donation to The First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells.
