Marie Thomas, 91, of Amarillo (previously of Mineral Wells), died Sunday, August 26, 2012. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, with burial following in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner. Marie was born on April 11, 1921, in Desdemona, Texas to Stratton and Winnie Keller. She relocated with her family to Mineral Wells as a teenager, and graduated from Mineral Wells High School. She married Dr. Lloyd Thomas on October 10, 1952. Marie was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, and was devoted to her family, friends, and the Lord Jesus Christ. She was highly skilled in many crafts, including seamstress, crochet, and embroidery and loved making gifts for others. She was a former church secretary, extended care activities director, member of the Mineral wells High School 50 Year Club, member of the Mineral Wells Senior Citizen Center, member of the local F.C.E. chapter, and active for many years in Baptist W.M.U. and G.A. organizations. Survivors include daughter Debbie Fox and husband Glen of Amarillo, grandson Andrew of Amarillo, sister Evelyn Jackson, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Laverne, and her three brothers, J.A., Douglas Vernon and Earl Keller.
