Marie McCarthy

It is with great sadness the family of Marie Adeline Gomez McCarthy announces her passing on February 26th at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Marie was born on June 16, 1960 in Mineral Wells to Joe and Berdonna Gomez. Marie graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1978. She was active in Mineral Wells High School Marching and Symphonic Bands. She was also an accomplished pianist and organist. Marie was a graduate of TCU School of Nursing with a degree as a registered nurse. She worked in the surgery unit and Harris Southwest Hospital for many years. Marie was an active volunteer at St. Matthews Church in Longview. She especially loved and worked with St. Vincent De Paul organization, and began the Angel Tree for her parish. She was always there for anyone an everyone. She was truly and angel on earth. The Rosary and visitation is Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Services will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will also be a memorial service at 7:30 PM on March 7, 2018 at St. Matthews in Longview. Marie will be forever remembered by her loving husband: Dennis of thirty years, her precious son: Nathan and wife Allyson of Frankfurt, Germany, her parents: Joe and Berdonna Gomez, her sister: Cathy Thomas and husband Toby of Glen Rose, brother: David Gomez and wife Tammy of Glen Rose, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family and dear friends. Marie was preceded in death by her brother: Michael Gomez. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Marie may be made to your local Human Society or the American Cancer Society.
