Maria Mendez

Maria Guadalupe Mendez, 36, passed away November 2, 2010 in Mineral Wells. She was born July 25, 1974 in Abilene the daughter of Carlos F. Sr. and Sylvia Ann Gonzales Cortez. She was a loving wife and mother. Services will be 10 AM Monday, November 8, 2010 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Sturdivant Cemetery. The rosary is at 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home with visitation following until 8 PM. The pallbearers will be Ray Almanza, George Galindo, Victor Sanchez, Ruby Gonzales, Chavelo Melendez, Japo Melendez, J. Lewis Rodriguez, and Fidencio Ortiz. She is survived by her husband: Tony Johnson, children: Chelsea Cortez, Christian Tyler Mendez, Matthew Ryan Mendez, Thaleigh Kay Johnson, Meredith Laura Ann Johnson, Tony Merle Johnson Jr., parents: Carlos and Lupe Cortez, Sylvia Gonzales, brothers and sister: Carlos F. Cortez Jr., Ector D. Rodriguez, J. Luis Rodriguez, Angela Cortez, grandparents: Yvonne Kay Luttrell, Guadalupe Gonzales, and Maria Castor and aunts and uncles: Ricky, Jimmy, Dorothy, and Diana Gonzales all of Mineral Wells, Antonio Cortez De Espinosa of Satillo Mexico, and Lupe Cortez Padilla of Brownsville. She was preceded in death by her son: Christopher Taylor Mendez and special aunt: Sarah Gonzales.
