Maria del Carmen Chavira

Maria del Carmen Chavira, 88, passed away August 5, 2019 in Mineral Wells. She was born April 24, 1931 in Crystal City, Texas the daughter of Carlos and Rosaura Hernandez. She married Alvino Chavira on December 30, 1951 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and worked as a custodian at Lamar Elementary School for 30 years. She was a member of the Iglesia Templo Bautista Church of Mineral Wells. Services will be 9 AM Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Iglesia Templo Bautista Church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by children and spouses: Alvino and Mary Jane Chavira, Diego and Sylvia Chavira, Carlos and Anna Chavira, Rene Chavira, Lee Chavira, Romelia and Jimmy Andrade, and Rachel and Johnny Benavides, 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 23, 1996, her son: Sergio Chavira, and her siblings.
