Mineral Wells loses a long standing resident, Mrs. Margie Lee Grant Wade. Her husband, Jack Wade, and she moved their two daughters, Jackie Lee Wade Copeland and Billie Ann Wade Birdwell, from Littlefield to Mineral Wells in 1953.Jack's parents, Sid and Ophelia, and Jack and Margie founded Mineral Wells Propane. In addition, Margie owned her own business, Marg's Ceramics. She enjoyed the pleasure of oil painting and creating ceramics. For the last 22 years she has been accompanying her dear friend, Mr. Elmer Laurence, while he toured with country music bands.Margie Wade was born to Carl Leroy Grant and Flora Mae Grant in Hurlwood, Texas, on May 25, 1929. She passed away at her daughter Jackie's home in Weatherford, Texas, on the morning of May 27, 2016. She was 87 years of age.Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her two daughters, Jackie Copeland and husband Scott Copeland, Billie Birdwell and husband Jack Birdwell; five grandsons, Paul Hearn and wife Rena Hearn, Jay Birdwell and wife Amy Birdwell, Joshua Hearn and wife Denice Hearn, Joshua Copeland and Caleb Copeland; four great grandsons, Dylan Hearn, Justin Hearn, Wyatt Birdwell and Morgan Birdwell; two great granddaughters, Emily Hearn and Nadia Birdwell; one sister, Daisy Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, June 3 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home at 302 West Hubbard Street in Mineral Wells. The funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 4 at the Southside Church of Christ at 1401 SE 25th Avenue in Mineral Wells with a grave side service immediately following at the Woodland Park Cemetery.Pall bearers are her grandsons and great grandsons. Rev. Scott Copeland will be officiating and Clay Burleson will lead the music. The best words used to describe Mrs. Margie Lee Wade are, "She is a Christian lady, full of God's grace."
