OBITUARY Emanuel Hicks Sr. was born to the parentage of Robert Hicks Sr. and Blanche Hicks on September l8,1937, in Strawn TX, where he received his elementary to middle school education before moving to Mineral Wells TX in 1953 to complete his high school education. A short time after moving to Mineral Wells, he worked for PECO (Perry Equipment Corp) where he was employed as a warehouse welder. Due to failing health he retired after 42 years of service. He later married Alberta Louise Colter and 10 this union were born Emanuel Hicks Jr. and Alice Cecelia Hicks. Emanuel Sr. had a love for baseball, bowling, blues, and bingo. He coached little league baseball for a number of years: He was a member of the Mineral Wells bowling league: He was a member and the guitar player of the group - Eddie Roy and the Band: He enjoyed and played the game of bingo. Most of all he enjoyed people and entertaining. Emanuel had a strong love for his family and he leaves to mourn his passing: His son - Emanuel Hicks Jr. (wife: Renee) of Mineral Wells; His daughter - Alice Hicks (fiance-Wayne Peoples) of Mineral Wells. His Grandchildren: Mikel Sr., Monae, Meguel, Amber, Alicia, and Emanuel III. Greatgrandson: Mikel Jr. His Stepchildren: David (Lisa) Carter of Carrollton; Alberthia Carter of Mineral Wells, Dornethia (Tyrone) Holmes of Fort Worth; Kathy (Eddie) Harper of Fort Worth. Stephen (Angela) Carter of Mineral Wells, Annette (pastor Donald) Horton of Fort Worth. and Dennis Carter of Mineral Wells. His Sisters: Alice Jackson of Mineral Wells; Elizabeth Mercer of Forest Park IL. His Favorite Niece: Carol Ann Jackson. His Special Nephews: Johnnie "JJ" Jackson: Beverly Reese and Clifford Reese. A host of step grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
