Fort Worth - Mamie June Stephens, 87, better known as "Meemaw" or "Aunt June", passed away peacefully on Dec. 9 at the home of Deedee & Lewis Stephens surrounded by her family.Services: 11 AM Saturday, December 11, 2010 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery.Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to VITAS Hospice Care, 2501 Parkview Dr. Suite 600, Fort Worth, TX 76102 or Trinity Habitat For Humanity.June was born June 9, 1923 in Garner, Texas to Ira Ward & Olive Estes Way. June worked as a cafeteria manager in several Fort Worth ISD schools before her retirement.The family wishes to thank the staff at VITAS Hospice Care especially Edith Ryan and Rebecca Oppong, Plaza at Ridgmar especially Nichell Washington, and Dr. Craig Dearden's office for their compassionate care.June was preceded in death by her husband Arzie H. Stephens, her parents and her brother, Ira Ward Way, Jr.Survivors: Son Lewis Stephens and wife Deedee, sisters Louise Snider and Jane Davenport, Grandson Chris Stephens, and numerous nieces and nephews.
