Maggie Cowley, 99, went to her Heavenly Home May 31, 2017 in Mineral Wells. She was born August 17, 1917 in Erath County the daughter of Robert E. Lee and Bertha Mae Howeth Russell. She married Robert Washington Cowley on January 8, 1939 in Mineral Wells. She was a longtime resident of Santo. She was baptized at Cedar Point Baptist Church in Stephenville. She loved to quilt and she loved her garden and flowers, and loved sharing them with others. She made and sold western wear and loved going on vacation with family. Services will be 2 PM Monday, June 5, 2017 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgadrner Chapel. Burial will follow in Staggs Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her children: Velma Hargrove of Mineral Wells, Clara Eder of Burleson, Rick Cowley of Bennington, Oklahoma, 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister: Faye Willett of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 27, 1997, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association in her memory.
