Maggie Lee Burkham

On July 30, 2024 another Angel flew to Heaven. Maggie Lee Burkham age 97, joined her Heavenly Father in His Kingdom of Heaven. She was born on September 15, 1926 in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Rebecca Jane Young and Ernest Baker. Maggie married the love of her life, Truet Burkham, on November 14, 1945 in Datal, N.M.; their union spanned over 60-years.

 In 1970 she became Assistant Post Master for the Mesilla Park Post Office in Mesilla Park, New Mexico where she happily served for 20-years. Moving to Mineral Wells, Texas in 1990 after retiring she and Truet began to enjoy their retirement. 

 Maggie was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Burkham and husband, Truet Burkham. 

 Survived by her daughter, Brenda Burkham and son-in-law, Toby Brogdon of Millsap, Texas and grandson, Bernard (BJ) Burkham and wife Whitney Walker of Millsap, Texas. She is also survived by, Terry Moore (a special daughter from another mother) whom she loved so dearly of Mineral Wells, Texas. 

 The family sends much love and thanks to Margaret and Dale Strain for the love and friendship they gave to our mother and to Solaris and the beautiful nurses and caregivers they provided for my mother's care. Special thanks to Ashley, Callie and Terry for being so good to my momma we love you all. 

 Honoring Maggie's life, she will be lying in state on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 

8:30 a.m. thru 8:30 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, Texas. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Woodland Park Cemetery Mineral Wells, Texas. 

 We ask no Flowers or Food please.
