Mae McMinn

Mae McMinn, 94, of Mineral Wells and the Sturdivant Community, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. She was a lifelong member of the Sturdivant Church of Christ. Mae was born in Martha, Oklahoma on April 11, 1929. Her parents were Perry and Emma Roy.

Mae lived many years and was loved by all who knew her. She took care of many people in all her years and touched so many hearts along the way, she will be missed deeply. She attended and graduated from Millsap High School and met the love of her life Kenneth Ray McMinn. They were married on March 22, 1947, and spent 67 years together before his passing. Mae spent many years as a master seamstress. She worked in the sewing factory when she was young, and then started her home sewing and alteration business, which she continued up until a few years ago.

Mae is survived by her sons, Roland (Snooker) and Marianne McMinn of Mineral Wells, TX; Steve McMinn and Sylvia McMinn of Weatherford, TX. Her beloved grandchildren, Sean Freeman and wife Lindsey of Brandon, MS; Paige McMinn of Scottsdale, AZ, Marisa Martin and husband Cam of Mineral Wells, TX and Monty McMinn of Prosper, TX; great-grandchildren Sarah Freeman, Evan Freeman and Endsley Freeman of Baton Rouge, LA; Courtney McMinn of Scottsdale, AZ; Kaylee Carey and husband Michael of Glen Rose, TX and Alexis Martin of Mineral Wells, TX; great-great-granddaughter Leighton Carey of Glen Rose, TX. Also, a special friend and the mother of her grandchildren, Tina Guinn.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Ralph McMinn, in 1952, and husband Kenneth Ray McMinn, in 2014.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 12, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Baum Carlock Baumgardner Funeral Home, with William Eudy officiating. Burial to follow at Sturdivant Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Baum Carlock Baumgardner Funeral Home.
