Mae Janess Griffith was born in Poolville, Texas on July 27, 1933 to Guy and Lula (Crow) Eaves. She lived most of her life in Weatherford and Mineral Wells. Her career as a nurse spanned over 30 years, working as an OR and ER nurse at Weatherford Memorial and Palo Pinto General Hospitals, and medical office nurse for doctors in Weatherford and Mineral Wells. She was blessed to be married to the love of her life, C.W. (“Dub” or “Mooney”) Griffith Jr., for over 63 years. Together they raised 3 sons whom she loved dearly and for whom she was a constant teacher, role model and protector. Her unconditional love, integrity, faith in God and positive attitude were a guiding light for her boys and a testimony to all who knew her. In retirement, she loved to travel the US with C.W., making friends wherever they traveled in their RV.
A devout Christian and member of Indian Creek Baptist Church, Mae took her final trip on October 3, 2022 to be with her Lord and Savior and her beloved husband. She was also predeceased by her parents and her eldest grandson, Robert Wilbanks. She is survived by her 3 sons, Mark Wilbanks, Cody and wife Lynanne Wilbanks and Guy Griffith, sister Joyce Ford and husband Mark, grandchildren Stefanie Reese and husband Joe, Jodi Rhoades and husband Ian, Brian Griffith Wilbanks and wife Sarah, 13 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
