Madge Holder

August 5, 1932 — December 8, 2015

Madge Holder 83 of Mineral Wells passed into her Lord's arms on December 8, 2015. She was born in Rison, Arkansas; the daughter of Milburn Lee and Pauline "Andrews" Lee. Madge Lee Holder passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the age of 83. She was born on August 5, 1932, in Rison, Arkansas to Milburn Lee and Pauline Andrews Lee. She grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and attended Henderson State College, where she met a handsome football player named John Holder, who became her husband on December 27, 1952. Due to John's service in the military, Madge and John moved frequently the next 25 years. They retired to Mineral Wells in 1979, after having lived there previously in the late sixties and early seventies. Madge was wonderfully creative and known best for owning Colonial Beauty Center, later known as Colonial Accents, or just "Madge's" to most people who knew her and shopped there. She loved assisting and visiting with customers for over 20 years, and most of them became her friends. Madge was a fun, caring, loving and supportive person to all who knew her. Above all, she was a beloved wife to her husband, a best friend to her daughters, and the best Nan a granddaughter could have. She shared very special bond with all of them and they will miss her terribly. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells, on Saturday, December 11, 2015 at 11am. She leaves behind her husband, John Holder; daughters Shannon Cavness and husband Randy and Kim Adcock and husband Ken; granddaughter Bailey Hundley and husband Clay; sisters Chloe Langston and husband Paul and Milly Chevaillier and husband Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Clark Gardens
