Mabel Inez Newberry

Mabel Inez Newberry, 98, passed away February 28, 2010, at her residence in Mineral Wells. She was born November 20, 1911, in Parker County the daughter of William and Lillie M. Finley Alexander. She was a 1929 graduate from the Millsap Schools. She married J. C. Newberry on December 24, 1929, in Millsap. She had lived in Mineral Wells for the past 19 years and in the Newberry Community prior to that. She was a member of the Newberry Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Millsap Garden Club. Services will be 10 AM Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Newberry Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Hugh Wagner, Jim R. Wright, and Stephen Storm officiating. Burial will follow in Newberry Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Jason McDonald, William Cosper, Doug Newberry, Royce Jordan, Will Simpson, and Monty Roy. The honorary pallbearers are E. J. McDonald and Russ Herrick. She is survived by her daughter: Patricia Huitt of Millsap, granddaughters: Melinda Cosper of Millsap, Patricia S. Wright of Eastland, and Jean-Anne Cheatham of Sierra City, California, great-grandchildren: Jason McDonald, Jacey Storm, Ashley Crowder, Blakeney French, William Cosper, and Jenna Cosper, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and her dog Fancy. She was preceded in death by her husband in June 1977, and her parents. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Millsap Alumni Fund.
