Louise Huddleston

Louise Huddleston, a loving Mother, Nannie, Aunt and wonderful friend passed away suddenly Sunday evening, May 16, 2009 at the home she shared with her daughter Kay Ford in Dennis, TX. Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel will burial in the Holders Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday. The family requests donations be made to the Mineral Wells American Legion Post 73 Ladies Auxiliary. Elsie Louise "Lou" was born June 7, 1925 in Johnson County to Sam and Ethel Hildebrand, the youngest of four daughters. She attended school in the Reece Prairie and Joshua School Districts before the family moved to the Brock area of Parker Co. in 1937, where she also attended Brock Schools. While in the Brock area, she met and married J.B. Shirley, they had two daughters, Patricia Ann (Prissy) and Rita Kay. In later years, Lou relocated to Mineral Wells and married R. J. (Red) Huddleston on December 23, 1961. She and Red owned and operated Red's Wrecker Service for many years. Lou was also employed with Texas Packaging in Mineral Wells for over 30 years and was a member of the Mineral Wells American Legion. In 2007, she moved to Dennis to make her home with her daughter, Kay Ford, where she continued her love of cooking and gardening which she shared with friends and family. Her zest for life and her outgoing nature will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Red Huddleston; a daughter, Patricia Ann McGee; sisters, Helen Maddux and Dorothy Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Rita Kay Ford, Dennis, TX; Grandchildren: Amber Porter and husband Scott, Stacy Wood and husband Doug, Matt McGee and wife Nicki and Nicole McGee. Great-grand children: Sklyler and Kyndra Wood, Taylor and Jordyn Porter and Will McGee. One great-great grandson Carter Lovelace. Sister: Lillie Mae Thomas. Step-children Allen Ray Huddleston, Mike Huddleston, Karen Lyons and Penny Wells and numerous nieces and nephews.
