Lloyd Spurlock

Lloyd Eugene Spurlock 74 of Santo passed away August 31, 2012. Eugene was born in Palo Pinto County, the son of Gallavan and Gertrude (Glover) Spurlock. Eugene had a reputation of being able to fix, modify, adjust to and overcome just about any obstacle that was thrown his way. Most all, knew of his ability to repair any machinery that was in need of wrench; and if he did not have a certain tool needed for the job he would make one. With all that he did for everyone in the community, he still had plenty of time for his family; he was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. One of his grandchildren once described his as "the most phenomenal man he ever knew"; Eugene had a very strong bond with all his grandchildren and passed along much of his knowledge to them. He leaves behind wife of 57 years Joyce Spurlock; son Tim Spurlock; daughter Melinda and husband Boomer Hayley; grandchildren Amanda Byrd, Hannah O'Hara, Timmy and wife Kyska Spurlock, Joann, Wesley and David Hayley, Lisa Mason, Samantha and husband Daniel Brazil, Hope Edwardson and Sonya Hamblin; 8 great grandchildren; Diane King and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Gallavan and Gertrude Spurlock; brother Robert Spurlock and daughter-in-law Trudy Spurlock and grandson, Matthew Hamblin. The family is providing a memorial service at the Word of Faith Church in Santo on September 9, 2012 at 3 P.M.
