Lloyd McCoy passed into his Lord's arms on March 2, 2017. He was born in Palo Pinto County, Texas; the son of John D. McCoy and Cora Alice Davis McCoy. Lloyd has been married to his loving wife Betty for 63 years. He lived on the Brazos River and enjoyed fishing and telling fish stories. He welcomed all to enjoy the Brazos River through his property. He worked at Fort Walters in Mineral Wells as an air traffic controller until it closed. His occupation before and after that was in the oil field. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017, 6pm, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgarder Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017, 11am, at Our Lady of Lourdes. A burial will follow afterwards at Fortune Bend Cemetery. He leaves behind his wife, Betty Jane Popp McCoy; son, Lloyd Don McCoy and wife Gwynn; daughters, Debra McKinney and husband Todd, Darlene Kanady and husband Weldon, Lois Wheat and husband Gary, and Judy Strumpfrock; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Keith McCoy; son-in-law, Erich Strumpfrock; parents, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers.
