Funeral services for Lillie Mae (Telchik) McDonald, 89, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Holder's Chapel United Methodist Church in Cool, Texas, with Reverend Jim Sanders and Reverend Doyle Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Holder's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home of Mineral Wells, Texas.Lillie passed away on Monday, December 12, 2017, at Just Like Home Assisted Living in Whitesboro, Texas.Lillie was born on December 28, 1927, in Stephens County to Herbert Telchik and Martha Ann (Dreitner) Telchik. Lillie received her nurse's training at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth Texas. Thereafter, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Nazareth Hospital in Mineral Wells, Texas, for a number of years. She was a long-time member of Holder's Chapel United Methodist Church in Cool, Texas.Lillie was a loving wife for 64 years to Jim Martin McDonald, marrying him on May 27, 1950. She was also dearly loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was famous in her family for her unparalleled chocolate pie. Lillie was also an accomplished seamstress, keeping herself, her daughters, and grandchildren in fashionable clothes that she lovingly sewed.She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Henderson and husband Rev. Doyle Henderson of Whitesboro, Texas, and Carole Grogan and husband Eric Grogan of Wharton, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Nicole Fletcher and husband Corey of Whitesboro, Texas; Jessica Tullos and husband John of Allen, Texas; Matt Jackson and wife Lindsey of Dallas, Texas; and Eric Jackson and wife April of Montgomery, Texas. Lillie is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Josh and Andrew Fletcher of Whitesboro; Trey and Tyler Tullos of Allen, Texas; and Addison and Parker Jackson of Montgomery, Texas.
