Lester Lee James, 91, passed away March 13, 2016 at his home in Mineral Wells. He was born December 19, 1924 in Keene the son of William Branson and Hattie Ann Williams James. Lester proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII, serving most of his time on the USS Crescent. The remainder if his career was spent as a Master Plasterer and Contractor. He was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He married Jackie Tonioli on February 5, 1945 in Corsicana and to this 71 year union three children were added: Jack L. James, Ruth Smith, and Geri Bonner. Graveside services will be 2 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Keene Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Wayne Smith, Charles Smith, Kenny Furr, Michael Brown, Randy Coleman, Paul Coleman, Willie Coleman, and James Coleman. He is survived by his wife of 71 years: Jackie James, children and spouses: Jack and Beverly James, Ruth and Wayne Smith, and Geri and John Bonner, grandson: Charles Smith and wife Julie, great-grandchildren: Austin and Aaron Smith, and many extended family including the Furr Family and the member of the Mineral Wells Seventh Day Adventist Church.
