Leona May Benton 94 of Fort Worth passed away July 17, 2012.Born in Brad, Texas the daughter of Rufus and Bertha Fitzgerald Mallory. Leona was a beautician by trade and a very good one at that. She once told her son that she remembered doing hair for .15 cents a set. She owned several shops from Strawn to Fort Worth and loved doing hair for the residents at the local nursing homes. Eventually she retired in Fort Worth. She had held the President position at Brad Cemetery and was very active in Eastern Star around the Strawn and Mineral Wells area. She leaves behind son Buddie and wife Linda Livingston of Fort Worth, 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by parents, husband Buddy Benton, 1 brother, 2 sisters and 1 grandson. Graveside service is Friday 10 A.M. at Brad Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Brad Cemetery.
