Lela Ann Reeder

Lela Reeder, age 68, passed away on December 4, 2023.

Lela was born in Mineral Wells, TX to Joseph Tanner and Roberta Tanner. Lela married Jimmy Reeder of on June 14, 1975 in Mineral Wells, Texas at the Eleventh Avenue Church where they met for the second time. The first time they met was at Lee Junior High in Mrs. Glenn's math class in 1969.

Lela worked on assembly lines at TRW Optron and other similar companies. The past few years she had been a housewife. She is known for her forthright manner. She would tell you exactly what to do and held her husband to account. Lela was what her husband needed in his life.

The family has found memories of Santa coming at Christmas and how Lela got early Christmas and the others had to wait until Christmas day. They often teased Lela about it. Other fond memories have to do with a river ride where the boat broke down and the train at Forest Park breaking down.  On many occasions as the years passed found themselves walking back to the parked car.

Lela is survived by her husband, Jim, a sister, Lynn Harris and husband Coy. She is also survived by nephews, David and Jody Harris, and a niece Joy Spurlin.

 She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Joyce Harris.
