Lavell McCoy

Lavell McCoy, 83, passed away January 2, 2014 at her home at Fortune Bend. She was born July 28, 1930 in Palo Pinto County the daughter of Leroy and Thryza Mitchell Storm. She married Jack Roland McCoy on May 6, 1947 in Palo Pinto County. She was a longtime resident of Fortune Bend, and spent several years in West Texas prior to that. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto. Services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in McAdams Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. She is survived by her 5 daughters: Sharon Maras, Caron Shifflett, Sue Smith, Jackie Houser, and Shawna Collins, 2 sons-in-law: Loyd Smith and Roy Collins, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 21, 1978, 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson, and 3 sisters.
