Laurann Mary Hinkson Gilley passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Fort Worth. She was born on December 6, 1947 at the Nazareth Hospital in Mineral Wells.
Laurann was a kind and compassionate soul. She never knew a stranger and welcomed everyone into her life. She had a huge heart and giving spirit. Laurann took in anyone who needed a roof over their head or a hot meal. She had a faith in God that was untested. Her famous quote was, “God will take care of me. He always does. He sees us through.”
Laurann, or as her family called her, was Mom, Nanny, or Nanny Goat. She was the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Terry Nowak and Patty Pettijohn and husband Jeff. Her grandchildren include Justin Nowak and wife Tori, Trace Nowak and wife Amanda, Sheyenne Snow, Blake Snell and husband Justin, Christian Richardson and husband Jeremy, Tate Box, Gabriel Pettijohn, Sydnee Frezell and husband Cy. Laurann was proud of her 11 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her Goddaughter, Dayna Overcash and her children, Colton Overcash, Cody Tillery, and Cayla Tillery; five siblings, Bob Hinkson and wife Anjelica, Eric Hinkson and wife Donna, Sandra Altum and husband Danny, Conn Hinkson, and Suzie Ragle and husband Louis.
Those that preceded her in death are her parents, Robert and Juneann Hinkson; brother, Michael Hinkson; brother-in-law, Donnell Flow; great-granddaughter, Harley Juneann; nephew, Chris Altum; and great-nephew, Caleb Larson.
A Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday with visitation following till 8 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church with burial following at Pickwick-McAdams Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Laurann’s name to the Caleb Larson Foundation for the benefit of Joshlynn Wilson.
