Kenneth Carl Smith

October 27, 1941 — July 23, 2020

Kenneth Carl Smith, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend departed for Heaven on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Ken was born in Lamesa, Texas, the son of Carl Simpson Smith and Isabelle Evie Vergie Napper Smith, on October 27,1941. Ken was raised in Odessa, Texas. After completing two years of service in the US Army as an MP, Ken moved to Lake Jackson, Texas in 1967 to work for BASF. He retired from BASF in 1995 and was able to pursue his lifelong passion of fishing, hunting, and a bit of farming and ranching. He loved his family and enjoyed nothing more than big family gatherings at “Poppy’s”. He moved to Palo Pinto Lake last year to be closer to family and continue the tradition on the lake.

He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of family, faith, friendship, goodwill, and love.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia Smith, of Palo Pinto, TX, children: Tami DeLuca, husband Pete DeLuca of Andrews, TX, Toni Alaniz, husband Ronny Alaniz of Andrews, TX, Rusty Smith, wife Santi Smith of Jakarta, Indonesia. Jerry Longino, wife Melissa Longino, of Clute, TX, grandchildren: Rio DeLuca, River DeLuca, Kenny Beaty, Kacy Beaty, wife Hailee Beaty, Nic Bownds and wife Kaitlyn Bownds, Skyler Smith, Tim Smith, Chase Smith, Kaylee Longino, and Landon Longino, great grandchildren: Kayden Beaty, Bridger Beaty, and Baby Bownds to be, brothers: Mike Smith, wife Teresa Smith, Randy Smith, and Joe Smith, sister, Kadon Smith and life partner Buster Spurlock, nephews: Josh Randall, wife Tonya Randall, Kody Randall, and Evin Smith.

Due to Covid restrictions a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
