Kenneth Earl Holland, 86, of Mineral Wells, passed away Friday, February 6, 2009 in Mineral Wells. Services were 10 am Monday at the Sturdivant Church of Christ with Kenneth McMinn and Butch Nimmo officiating. Burial will be in the Sturdivant Cemetery with James, Jerry, Josh and Jamie Putman, Micah Putman and Timothy Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Denney, Sgt. James Denney, USMC, Kelsey Denney, Melissa Beck, Megan Putman, Teddy Jones and Mark Marcus. Kenneth was born October 22, 1922 in Mineral Wells, the son of George Randolph and Mattye Coffman Holland and lived in Mineral Wells all his life. He married Louise Pilgrim October 5, 1941 in Mineral Wells, and she preceded him in death in 2005. He owned and operated Economy Welding, located in the Sturdivant Community from 1957 until 1996. He was a member of the Sturdivant Church of Christ and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and James Putman of Mineral Wels and Marlene and Dewey Jones of Moody; brothers and sisters-in-law, George M. and Peggy Holland of Mineral Wells and A. W. and Sylvia Holland of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Frieda and Thomas Putman of Mineral Wells; grandchildren and spouses, James and Joy Putman, Jerry and Kim Putman, Mary and Tim Denny, Teresa and Mark Marcus; great-grandchildren, Sgt. James Denny, U.S. Marines, Kelsey Denney, Melissa Beck, Megan Putman, Jamie Putman, Josh Putman, Micah Putman, Timothy Jones, Teddy Jones; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Dustin Jones and a brother, Harold Holland.
