Long- time teacher and beloved wife and mother Karrie Kuhn Wilhoit passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the age of 57 after a long and courageous battle with a rare cancer called uveal melanoma. She was surrounded by loved ones who will honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest and cherishing her memory.
Karrie completed her Bachelor’s degree at Tarleton State University and her Master’s degree at UT Tyler. She taught for 26 years at Perrin-Whitt CISD. She is remembered as a masterful and inspiring teacher of English. She shared her passion for literature and learning with hundreds of students; her animated voice brought the classics to life year after year in her classroom.
Karrie’s family brought her the greatest joy in life. She enjoyed a quiet evening with a book, Saturday trips to Fort Worth, and spending Sundays visiting with her family. She absolutely loved to travel with her husband Clifford and her son Zachary, both domestically and abroad, especially to sites related to her favorite works of literature.
Karrie is survived by her husband Clifford and son Zachary, both of Mineral Wells; her grandmother Maxine Cooper of Perrin; her parents Johnnie and Shirley Kuhn of Perrin; her siblings Amy Salazar and husband Kenny of Perrin, Susanna Lovern and husband Chip of Mineral Wells, and John Kuhn and wife Noelia of Mineral Wells; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be remembered fondly by her family and by countless dear friends and former students.
