Karen Louise Davis

September 17, 1953 — March 30, 2022

Karen Louise Grantham Davis, 68, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away after a battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at her home, surrounded by family.

Karen was born on September 17, 1953 to Orville J. (Poe) Grantham and Louise Grantham in Mineral Wells. After graduating from high school in 1971, she went to work for the family business, Palo Pinto County Abstract Company, as an Abstractor. She maintained this role her entire career until retirement in 2016.

In 1975, she met and married the love of her life, Steve Davis. They welcomed their only child, son Corey Davis, in 1981.

She had a lifelong passion for bowling and could often be found at the bowling alley, especially on Monday evenings for her women’s league. Karen also traveled the state and beyond for bowling tournaments. Her love of bowling was shared by her family and even when she wasn’t on the lanes herself, she was there supporting them.

Karen was quite the maker, enjoying various crafts including crocheting, needlepoint, knitting, and more. She thoroughly enjoyed gifting her creations to others. Many received house shoes each year for Christmas and expectant parents received a baby blanket for their newborn. Other hobbies included video games and geocaching.

After the births of her grandchildren, Karen devoted her life to them and found extreme joy in supporting all of their interests and activities such as sports, choir, band, theater and more.

Karen is survived by her husband, Steve; son, Corey and daughter-in-law, Teresa; granddaughter, Haley; grandson, Nolan; sister, Annette McAllester; brother-in-law, Gary Davis and wife, Liz; brother-in-law, Doug Davis and wife, Marlene; sister-in-law, Millie Singleton; brother-in-law, Raymond Davis and wife, Jane; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Poe and Louise Grantham; brother, Neal Grantham and wife, Stella; brother-in-law, Roy Dean (Dino) Davis; and brother-in-law, Mike McAllester.
