Juanita Ramsey

Juanita Laree Ramsey age 97, born in Mineral Wells, Texas, February 12, 1920 - February 12, 2017. Juanita lived in the Mineral Wells area all her life. She graduated from Perrin High School in 1938 and was married to Clarence Ramsey in the summer of 1939. She loved being a "farmers" wife. She was an active member of the First Baptist of Perrin where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years, and later in the First Baptist of Mineral Wells. Juanita learned to crochet before she began school and continued to enjoy the craft throughout her life. She taught this skill to many others. She loved to read and work word puzzles. Juanita may be best remembered as an excellent cook; among our favorites were fried chicken, oatmeal cookies, and cream pies. Juanita will be remembered as a loving, thoughtful, positive, dedicated Godley woman, good friend, and even better, wife, mother, and grandma "Memaw". She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ida Bolton, and her husband of 66 years, Clarence Ramsey. She is survived by her four children and spouses. Daughters, Joyce and husband James Buchanan of Lewisville, Beth and husband David Visentine of Irving; sons, Ed and wife Deborah Ramsey of Corinth, and Owen and wife Shelley Ramsey of Mineral Wells; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, James Buchanan, John and Cynthia Buchanan, Kelle and Glenn Macleay, Michael and Kelly Visentine, Craig and Maribel Ramsey, Jeff and Kim Ramsey, Steven and Mandy Ramsey, Mollie Ramsey, Rachel and Thomas Lively, and Cody Ramsey, plus twenty-one great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
