Josephine Ray Smith, 76, passed away September 29, 2010 at her home in Mineral Wells. She was born February 21, 1934 in Fayetteville, North Carolina the daughter of Nathan and Dessie Ray Maynard. She married Henry L. Smith Sr. June 14, 1950 in Meridian, Mississippi. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Services will be 12 Noon Saturday, October 9, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Fredia Sneed officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6-8 PM at Bethel Baptist Church. The pallbearers will be Jerome Smith, Mark Smith II, Raymond Smith, Gregory Smith, Harry Small III, and D'Anthony Smith. The honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Henry L. Smith Sr., sons and daughters-in-law: Timothy and Jackie Smith, Henry and Michelle Smith, Mark and Jo Ann Smith, James Smith, Barnabas and Meshelle Smith, daughter and son-in-law: Lilian and Harry Small, sisters: Mary Chance, Minnie Johnson, Adell Frederich, Pearline Mitchell, Eva Mae McDoogle, and Mary Frederich, brothers: Robert, Ed, and Henry Frederich, 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and a grand host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother: Dessie Ray Frederich, father: Nathan Maynard, son: Phillip Delon Smith, brothers: Joe Maynard, Collie Ray, Alexander Ray, Wesley Frederich, James Ray, Charlie Frederich, and Willie Frederich, and sisters: Emma Green and Mildred McClean.
